46 year old Tim Hayden is a quick witted and hardworking mason from Hamden, ME. His love for his work is rivaled only by the love he has for his wife Holly and their two children who are the center of his life. Tim has always found pleasure in the simple things in life, like riding his Harley with friends or siting by a camp fire, laughing and telling stories. Unfortunately for Tim, life became anything but simple on new years day of 2016 when he received devastating news from his doctors; Tim had been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and requires a bone marrow transplant to save his life.
To help fight the odds, his family and community will host a donor drive to register new potential donors for Tim and other patients in need of a transplant from an unrelated donor. The donor drive will be held at Hamden Academy at 89 Western Avenue in Hampden, ME on Saturday, March 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration consists of swabbing the inside of the mouth and completing a registration form. Anyone in good health between the ages of 18 to 55 is eligible.
