Julie, wife and mother of three children, was suddenly diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in January 2015 after going to the doctor for fatigue and needed a bone marrow transplant. Luckily, she was able to find her life-saving donor match on the bone marrow registry so she may continue to make life-long memories with her family. However, so many others needing bone marrow transplants can not find their donor match because there are just not enough people on the registry for them to continue reaching their dreams.
Friends of Julie in the Decatur communities and Delete Blood Cancer have teamed up, in honor of Julie, to help others in need of a life-saving bone marrow transplant find their real-life hero. All it takes is a simple cheek swab and you can make a difference.
