MSU’s School of Pharmacy will be hosting a donor to drive to raise awareness about MDS and other blood cancers. Jane Massey, a pharmacist and mother of a UMKC pharmacy student, was recently diagnosed with MDS. This year alone, nearly 14,000 people will need a bone marrow transplant but more than half will never find a match due to lack of donors on the national registry. MSU and APhA-ASP are sponsoring this event to give students and faculty the chance to register as potential donors. It only takes a few minutes and the swab of a cheek to see if you could be a life-saving match to a person in need!
