Louisa County Lions Bone Marrow Drive hosted by Coach Mark Fischer

In 2012, Coach Fischer was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma on September 21st. Four years later, he continues to fight against this bone and blood cancer on a daily basis and has NEVER once missed out on standing along the sidelines with his team, for a Friday night football game. Working his weekly/monthly treatments and doctor visits around the time of practice, camps, and game days has become a way of life for him and he refuses to live it any other way.

On Friday, September 30th, 2016, at 7:00pm, the Louisa County Lions will host their first ever “ Cancer Out” football game.

Most schools follow the trend of highlighting one cancer for a particular game or month, but Louisa has a different idea. Friday Night will be a night of many colors in The Jungle. Coach Fischer wants the community to visually represent a cancer that has impacted your life, by wearing the color of that cancer ribbon to the football game. DKMS will also have a table to get swabbed to potentially save a life!
