I look forward to working with DKMS to register more donors and help save lives for year to come.

Dave Thomas has made it his personal mission to raise awareness about blood cancer and bone marrow donation and increase the number of donors on the registry.

In August, 2013, right before her second birthday, Dave’s daughter, Lainey was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and began an aggressive treatment program of chemotherapy and steroids. As his daughter’s health crisis unfolded, Dave shared his story and leveraged his employer, PepsiCo’s engaged employee population to recruit bone marrow donors and raise funds to support the fight against blood cancer.

Dave’s ongoing work has already made an impact by growing the bone marrow registry and educating people about the need for more marrow donors. “I’m doing this to help the one person in this world who would not been helped otherwise,” explained Dave.
